How the ledger is built

Sources, counting rules, and disclosures.

Sources

The filmography spine is adapted from the English Wikipedia filmography pages (the five decade pages for theatrical shorts and webtoons) and the per-series episode list pages, under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence. Feature films are hand-compiled and verified editorially. Disc-release mapping is compiled by hand from release contents and is being added release by release.

Counting rules

The golden age is counted as the 1,002 theatrical shorts released 1929-1969 under the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies banners. Later theatricals (39) are counted separately, as are the 2001-2005 webtoons (64) and television episodes (824). Repeated titles are legitimate - the studio reused names across decades - and each release is its own record.
